Core Courses offered in the Jewish Christian Studies Program: 

Jewish Christian Studies Department:

  • JCS 401 - Appointed Times: The Festivals, Fasts, and Feasts of HaShem (4 credits). Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Pentecost, Trumpets, Yom Kippur, Booths, Hanukkah, and Purim. This course meets according to the appointment times listed in Leviticus 23 within the annual religious cycle. Refer to the seminary calendar. Course length is almost one year and meets at irregular times throughout the year. Lecture times are incorporated in the Religion 101 course schedule below so it is reccommended that this course be combined with the religion 101 class and subsequent semester courses. Grades for this course are based upon classroom quizzes and personal videos made of the appointed times with HaShem. Note: This course is continued from the Spring Semester

  • JCS 501 – Introduction to the Judaism Practiced by Yeshua (3 credits). The New Testament, primarily the gospel of Matthew and book of James, are the source for the content that expresses the Judaism Practiced by Jesus.

JCS 403 - Introduction to Torah (3 credits): Overview of Genesis (B'RESHEET), Exodus (SH'MOT), Leviticus (VAYIKRA), Numbers (B'MIDBAR), and Deuteronomy (D'VARIM) with emphasis on Mitzvot, themes, principles, wisdom, references to Yeshua, the national constitution, origins of earth and life, G-d's interventions into human affairs, and promises, covenants, and commitments contained in these Scriptures. 
 
JCS 404 - Introduction to the New Covenant (3 credits): Overview of the New Testament books. Each New Testament book is briefly covered from a Jewish Christian perspective. 
 
JCS 405 - Introduction to the Hebrew Scriptures (3 Credits): Each book in the Tenack (Old Testament) is covered from a Jewish Christian perspective.
 
JCS 402 - Introduction to Yeshua in the Hebrew Scriptures (3 Credits): Survey of Scripture prophecy concerning Yeshua.
 
JCS 502 - Hebrew Roots of Christianity (3 credits): The Hebrew Scriptures form the foundation for Jewish Christianity. That foundation is examined.
 
JCS 503 - Introduction to Scripture Prophecy (3 credits): Predictions in the Scriptures which happened or will happen as depicted.
 
JCS 504 - Harmonizing Science and Scripture (3 credits): Comparing the first eleven chapters of Genesis with the current best scientific views to harmonize the facts and Scripture.

BL 101 - Beginners Hebrew (3 credits) - Letters, sounding out words, basics of reading, speaking, and comprehending the Hebrew Scriptures.
 
Religious History Dept.
 
RH 101 - Introduction to Jewish Christian History (3 credits): Jewish Christian and Jewish History from Alexander the Great to the formation of the State of Israel.
 
RH 102 - History of Christian Anti-Semitism (1 Credit): How Christian doctrine and teachings resulted in the deaths and persecution of millions of Jewish people.
